Adults Move Lincolnshire (AML) was founded by Bekki in April 2021 and became a CIC in April 2023, continuing to operate today with a focus on creating inclusive, accessible movement opportunities for adults across Lincolnshire. AML was born in response to the social isolation and mental and physical health challenges many adults experienced following the Covid-19 pandemic, combined with a perceived lack of local activities for young adults and the wider community. Through working with local organisations and engaging directly with the community, Bekki and the AML team identified barriers that prevented people from accessing enjoyable, inclusive, and fun activities. AML was therefore created to remove these obstacles, providing recreational, wellness, and movement-based sessions that welcome older adults, adults with disabilities, those with long-term health conditions, and anyone seeking connection and wellbeing, helping everyone feel part of a supportive, active, and engaging community.
