  • Community Projects | Adults Move Lincs

Find out about our community projects past and present. Community Projects Some of our work is delivered through funded projects that support access, inclusion and community connection. Below you will find information about out current and past projects which have impacted our local community in the South Holland Area. Echoes: Intergenerational Project We’re excited to share that our Echoes project has received funding from the National Lottery Community Fund! This support will help us continue and expand our intergenerational project across South Holland, bringing young people and older residents together through dance and music. Over the next year, we’ll be working with Diamondz School of Dance and The Rock School Bus to visit more sheltered housing sites and local care homes to create meaningful shared experiences and strengthen community connections. We kick off with our first tour just next month Stay tuned as we share moments, stories, and the impact of Echoes Project Inclusive/Silent Discos Thanks to being awarded £4,858.99 through the UKSPF GRASSroots Grant Fund by the Lincolnshire Community Foundation, we’ve been able to invest in high-quality equipment for our inclusive community discos. Sensory Dance In 2025, we were delighted to receive funding from Sense to reintroduce Sensory Dance to our local community. This funding supported hall hire and staffing costs for an initial 10-week block of inclusive dance sessions beginning in January 2025. Designed specifically for adults with complex disabilities, Sensory Dance offers engaging, accessible, and creative movement experiences that promote self-expression, physical activity, and social connection. The sessions are carefully structured to be inclusive, adaptable, and responsive to a wide range of sensory and support needs. With a strong focus on sustainability, a modest participant fee was introduced, enabling us to self-fund a second 10-week block starting in April 2025. The sessions now run weekly, continuing to provide a joyful, safe, and enriching space for participants to explore movement and connection through dance. We are grateful to Sense for their support in helping us re-establish this vital programme and for enabling us to build a model that continues to thrive beyond the initial funding period. Janaury 2025 Echoes: Intergenerational Project Read Impact Report Christmas Tour Following the success of our intergenerational project 'Echoes' during the summer holidays with Diamondz School of Dance , we were thrilled to receive funding from the SHDC_Communities for a similar initiative aimed at combating isolation in sheltered housing during the Christmas period. As we have seen, participating in intergenerational projects not only benefits the older generation but also enriches the lives of young people by providing them with valuable experiences that promote personal growth and development. The ‘Echoes’ Christmas Tour was be held on Sunday 15th December with a group of 10 young individuals, aged 13-19 years old, visiting four sheltered housing community centres within South Holland. The event involved a dance performance from the young people, intergenerational discussions on 'the true meaning of Christmas' and a Christmas carol sing-a-long! December 2024 Echoes: Intergenerational Project Read Impact Report August 2024 The experience of previous generations is echoed in the lives of young people. Echoes aims to bridge this gap and improve social isolation across the generations through the commonality of dance & music. In August 2024, 8 young people embark on the Echoes Tour, visiting 5 sheltered accommodation community centres within South Holland over a period of 5 days. The young people has prepared a dance performance to showcase the residents of the areas, a memory board with thought provoking questions around music & dance, as well as some tik-tok dances to teach the residents. Sense in Motion April- August 2023 Sense in Motion’ - A 16-hour dance project working with individuals with SEND & their support workers at Sense Centre Pinchbeck, creating a creative movement piece that includes everyone. It was filmed, edited and ended in a cinema-style sharing in August 2023. We have seen huge benefits to the participants, from increased mobility to focused engagement they do not always have in other activities. Dance is not only a form of physical exercise, but a creative outlet, enabling participants to express themselves and their emotions. South Holland in Motion Sept-Nov 2023 South Holland in Motion's aim is to break down barriers to dance, and performance for adults with different abilities and access needs. Over ten weeks, Diamondz Dance & Adults Move Lincolnshire collaborated with five organisations that provide either social support, day care or residential care to adults, forming bonds of trust, creativity, and joy. After speaking with the group leaders, we designed a unique delivery style that not only fits the participants but also empowers them, including creating their own solo & group choreography. South Holland in Motion engaged 85 individuals and their support workers through the delivery of pop-up sessions and weekly sessions. Including a video sharing and two live performances.
