Find out about our community and private/mobile Sensory Dance sessions for adults with additional needs and disabilites. Sensory Dance Sensory Dance – Funded by Sense In 2025, we were delighted to receive funding from Sense to reintroduce Sensory Dance to our local community in Spalding. This funding supported hall hire and staffing costs for an initial 10-week block of inclusive dance sessions beginning in January 2025. Designed specifically for adults with complex disabilities, Sensory Dance offers engaging, accessible, and creative movement experiences that promote self-expression, physical activity, and social connection. The sessions are carefully structured to be inclusive, adaptable, and responsive to a wide range of sensory and support needs. With a strong focus on sustainability, a modest participant fee was introduced, enabling us to self-fund a second 10-week block starting in April 2025. The sessions now run weekly, continuing to provide a joyful, safe, and enriching space for participants to explore movement and connection through dance. We are grateful to Sense for their support in helping us re-establish this vital programme and for enabling us to build a model that continues to thrive beyond the initial funding period. Adults Move Lincolnshire (AML) was founded by Bekki in April 2021 and became a CIC in April 2023, continuing to operate today with a focus on creating inclusive, accessible movement opportunities for adults across Lincolnshire. AML was born in response to the social isolation and mental and physical health challenges many adults experienced following the Covid-19 pandemic, combined with a perceived lack of local activities for young adults and the wider community. Through working with local organisations and engaging directly with the community, Bekki and the AML team identified barriers that prevented people from accessing enjoyable, inclusive, and fun activities. AML was therefore created to remove these obstacles, providing recreational, wellness, and movement-based sessions that welcome older adults, adults with disabilities, those with long-term health conditions, and anyone seeking connection and wellbeing, helping everyone feel part of a supportive, active, and engaging community.
